Anthony Oghenenyerhovwo Ighomena (born December 8, known professionally as ego menar is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and music producer. His music is enjoyed by many for its stylized cinematic quality, its preoccupation with themes of gratifying romance, solicitous yet dulcet tones and his revamp touch on pop culture.
Ego was born as the fourth child in a family of seven children to Emmanuel and Roseline Ighomena in Delta state, Nigeria. At an early age, he picked interest in music due to the influence of his brother Joshua who was also a music producer at the time.
Ego menar attended Holy Martyrs of Uganda seminary and alongside his music career, he graduated from the Bells University of Technology, OTA.
In 2013, Ego Menar began music production for his fellow students at Bells University, Ego gradually earned his respect among his peers and began to gain recognition in other campuses. In July 2017, he released his debut single "Pay My Money" and unleashed his new style. Because of his display of a comic tone and indifference to pop culture, the song suddenly gained popularity among fans. The song was inspired by the rendezvous of a close friend.
Ego's hard work and talent were buttressed with the suffice of his first studio album "On Board" which features other campus sensations like Samuela and Tmax. In the album, Ego showcases his sampling skills and produced the work of an old professional.
Since then, Ego has worked on a number of other projects with mainstream music producers. He has also released other singles and has only gotten better at touching the souls and spirits of his listeners.
